Headaches
- Headaches are commonly caused by improper movements and alignment
of the muscles and joints in the neck.
Headaches
are the second most common reason that people go to the doctor. Just
pay attention to how many advertisements you see for headache medications,
and you'll realize how prevalent this problem is. This being the case,
it is exciting to know what chiropractic can do for headaches.
There are two basic types of headaches, mechanical and vascular. Mechanical
headaches are cause by dysfunction of the joints, muscles, ligaments
and tendons of the cervical spine. Because pain from the neck is perceived
to be in the head, these headaches are referred to as cervicogenic headaches
or headaches arising from the neck. Vascular headaches are related to
poor blood delivery to the brain and other structures of the head. The
most common type of vascular headaches are migraines. The common denominators
between these two types of headaches are subluxations of the neck. Since
subluxations cause so many headaches, chiropractic care is very successful
in removing the underlying case of painful headaches.
Researchers,
Dr. Droz and Dr. Crot, found that 93% of 332 patients, with cervicogenic
headaches, experienced a decrease in the frequency and intensity of
their headaches as a result of chiropractic adjustments. In fact 80%
of these patients indicated that they experienced significant relief
through chiropractic care. In a review of articles from nearly 20 years
of research, Dr. Vernon found that chiropractic reduces migraine headaches
in 75 - 90% of cases. Medications can cover-up the symptoms of a headache,
but do nothing to remove the causes of headaches. In fact there is now
a type of headache known to be caused by frequent, long-term use of
over-the-counter pain medications. Research
has proven that subluxations, which cause headaches, are safely and
effectively treated by chiropractic methods eliminating the need for
common headache medications.
BACK
Neck
Pain
- Neck pain is generally caused by subluxation in the upper or cervical
spine.
The Cervical
spine is made up of seven vertebrae which are designed to give you a
full, pain free, range of motion in every direction. Unfortunately,
when subluxations, misalignments from improper motion, are present,
stiffness, pain and other health problems will result. The complex joint
system of the neck is infused with a high degree of pain-communicating
nerves that become active with spinal subluxations. Chiropractic adjustments
remove the subluxations of the cervical spine and therefore are effective
in eliminating the causes of pain in your neck.
BACK
Numbness
and Tingling in the Arms - This "falling asleep"
sensation in the arms, back, or hands is an indication that your nerves
are not receiving enough oxygen.
More
Info: A numb, tingling sensation in the shoulder, arm or hand is almost
always the result of decreased oxygen delivery to a nerve or nerves
in that part of the body. Common causes for the decreased oxygen delivery
are misalignments, swelling, stiffness, and muscle spasms that accompany
cervical subluxations. Numbness and tingling are very serious symptoms.
If these symptoms are present, make sure you are checked for subluxation
as soon as possible.
BACK
Dizziness or Balance Problems
- These symptoms are caused by a weak signal from your "input"
organs to the brain.
Your brain receives input from your eyes, ears, muscles and joints to
maintain your body's balance. When the eyes and the ears are functioning
properly, but you are experiencing dizziness or balance problems, you
are likely suffering from muscle or joint dysfunction. Of course, muscle
and joint dysfunction is usually caused by subluxations which decrease
the input from your nervous system to your muscles and joints. Chiropractic
gets great results with dizziness and balance problems through the restoration
of full function of the nervous system.
BACK
Sinus
Problems - Subluxations decrease nervous system
function, every organ and tissue depends on adequate nerve communication
to be healthy.
Because
subluxations decrease nervous system function, and every organ and tissue
depends on adequate nerve communication, chiropractic care is often
very effective in treating sinus problems, ear infections, and other
type problems which result in pain around the structures of the face.
Have your child checked for subluxations before jumping to antibiotic
medications.
BACK
Disc Problems -
Serious trauma and untreated subluxations can lead to disc injuries.
Many
disc injuries can be treated successfully without surgery thru appropriate
chiropractic care.
More
Info: When years of subluxation have caused degeneration, the disc of
the neck can become herniated or ruptured. If this happens, disc tissue
may irritate and inflame the nerves around the disc. Causing pain, numbness,
weakness, and other changes in the arms and hands. If these symptoms
are familiar to you or someone you know, get checked as soon as possible.
For the best result keep your treatment options in the following order,
Chiropractic, Medication, Surgery.
BACK
Whiplash
- Because whiplash injuries are so serious, long lasting and detrimental
to one's health, it is absolutely necessary that proper treatment is
received.
Due
to the fact that chiropractic focuses on restoring joint motion, alignment,
and soft tissue healing, long-term problems associated with whiplash
are minimized. Numerous studies have proven chiropractic treatment to
be highly effective in treating these injuries. If you or someone you
know has recently been involved in a car accident, or is still suffering
from problems caused years ago in an accident, you will get the help
you need through chiropractic care.
BACK
Arm
Weakness - If neck subluxations or disc problems
have been present for long periods of time, weakness in the arms may
occur.
More
Info: The progressive weakness of any muscle is a serious concern. In
the case of severe subluxation or disc injury, a nerve that exits the
neck and goes to the muscles of the arms or hands may lose its function
to the extent that muscles may develop weakness. If this is occurring,
a person may have limited time to get proper treatment before irreversible
damage is done.
