CONDITIONS - Lumbar

Some Lumbar conditions may include:

  1. Numbness and Tingling in the Legs
  2. Pulled Muscles
  3. Hip Problems
  4. Radiating Pain
  5. Bowel, Bladder and Sexual Dysfunction

Numbness and Tingling in the Legs - The falling asleep sensation in the low back, legs or feet is a direct indication that the nerves are not receiving enough oxygen.

Decreased oxygen flow and nerve irritation are usually the reason for numbness and tingling in the buttocks, legs and feet. Since spinal subluxations decrease the flow of oxygen to the lower extremities, it is easy to relate subluxations to numbness and tingling. If you are experiencing any numbness and tingling, get your self checked out immediately.

Pulled Muscles - The term "pulled muscle" is the layman's term for a muscle strain. Any movement can result in a muscle strain.

Shoveling snow, bowling, lifting improperly, and pulling weeds are all causes of lumbar muscle strain. Strained muscles will usually feel better with a little ice and rest. However, if strains are not allowed to heal properly, the muscles and joints of the affected area may become long-term problems. Such long term problems result in stiffer, weaker, and more painful muscles. This condition often leads to chronic low-back pain. Chiropractors realize that the long-term result of untreated, mild injuries may have debilitating effects on the spine, nervous system, and the future health of the individual. Adjustments to the lower back will assure that proper motion and alignment exists in the spine, and will strengthen strained muscles. This will lead to full recovery for the patient.

BACK

Hip Problems - Restrictions and imbalances may exist in the hip joints and cause pain and dysfunction.

More Info: A problem in the lumbar spine may radiate pain to, and around, the tissues of the hip. Likewise, a problem in the hip may affect the lumbar spine or other parts of the body. Restrictions and imbalances also known as subluxations, may exist in the hip joint and cause pain and dysfunction. After examination you can receive a hip, pelvis and lumbar spine adjustment to promote proper structure and function.

BACK

Radiating Pain - Subluxations or nerve impingements in the sacroiliac joints, lumbar spine, and the hips may radiate pain into the legs.

Do not rely on medications to dull your perception of this problem while the conditions worsen, see a chiropractor. Chiropractic care gets great results in treating radiating pain.

BACK

Bowel, Bladder and Sexual Dysfunction - Problems with these types of functions may be considered "red flag" indicators that a serious problem is present.

If bowel, bladder or sexual dysfunctions exist, they may be the result of poor nervous-system communication. These problems respond very well to chiropractic treatment. If you have these problems, get checked immediately as they tend to worsen with time.
